Speech and Drama

The DSA Speech & Drama Programme has been running on a weekly basis since 2003.

The programme aims to develop students emotionally, physically and cognitively through fun and imaginative drama play, to enhance confidence and self esteem, to encourage communication skills and verbalization, to encourage and improve social interaction, exchanges, behaviors and etiquettes, to promote team work, to impart self-expression, and to learn to get in touch with one’s feelings and emotions.

Content of the courses includes movement exercises, speech and vocal exercises, drama games, music, role play, story telling, puppetry, mime and text work such as poetry, readers’ theatre and other drama texts.

Currently, there are three classes available:

1.Tuesdays 7pm to 8.30pm (12 years and above)
2.Saturdays 2.30pm – 4pm (12 years and below, Beginners’ Class)
3.Saturdays 5pm to 6.30pm (12 years and below, Intermediate Class)

Note that the age group categorization is only a guide and specific students will be grouped after evaluation by the instructors and discussion with the parents.
