TRAINING OFFICER

Requirements

Diploma in special education, occupational therapy, disability studies or psychology.
Preferably with experience in working with persons with special needs / Down syndrome. Passion, enthusiasm and strong commitment are essential qualities.

Description

Participate in DSA training programmes by teaching/training children, youth and adults with Down syndrome. You will assist the Assistant Director in developing and planning training sessions, job placements, and the initiation and implementation of Social Enterprises for youths with Down syndrome.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Requirements

  • Minimum GCE 'O'Level
  • Proficient in MS Office and internet skills
  • Good oral/written English
  • Able to handle minutes and professional business correspondence.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a high degree of discretion, diplomacy and tact in discharging duties.
  • Confident, self-motivated & able to work independently.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Description

  • Provide administrative support for courses, projects & events.
  • Reception duties, handle enquiries & correspondence, prepare publicity and correspondence material for projects
  • Assist to execute training & development programmes for clients
  • Assist Program operations and coordinate meetings.
  • Develop, maintain membership & volunteer database
  • Perform Programs and Services Coordinator duties in his/her absence.
  • Record and distribute mail
  • Indent Stationery and maintain inventory.
  • Office Maintenance and upkeep.

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in special education. Preferably with experience in working with persons with special needs / Down syndrome.
  • Passion, enthusiasm and strong commitment are essential qualities.

Description

  • Plan the Individualised Education Plans (IEP) with the Head of Department / Curriculum Developer and other relevant professionals.
  • Develop, prepare and implement relevant lesson plans to ensure that the client achieves the identified learning goals as planned.
  • Monitor IEP to ensure the client is achieving the educational, and behavioural goals as scheduled.
  • Conduct quarterly evaluation of the IEP and submit reports to the Head of Department for purposes of review of education plans.

The DSA Resource and Information Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 9.30 am to 7.00pm on Saturday. We are closed on public holidays. We are located at Junction 8 (Office Tower), 9 Bishan Place, #06-04.
