DSA Medical Seminar - "Raising Awareness of Medical Concerns and Developmental Milestones of Children with Down Syndrome”

Dear Parents,

Cognizant of the needs of parents to gain greater insights on health requirements of their child with Down syndrome, and to more effectively understand their developmental needs, DSA will be organising a medical seminar on Saturday 24 May 2008, at DSA Resource Center, Junction 8.  The seminar entitled, "Raising Awareness of Medical Concerns and Developmental Milestones of Children with Down Syndrome,” aims to raise the awareness of parents about the medical needs, effective health care, and the stages or developmental milestones of their child.

The Resource Speakers include specialists from KK Children’s and Women’s Hospital and National University Hospital.  The topics to be discussed include:
                      
    Ø      Developmental Milestones of Child with Down Syndrome

    Ø      Ear, Nose and Throat Concerns (ENT Specialist)

    Ø      Eye Concerns (Eye Specialist)

    Ø      Foot Conditions and other concerns (Podiatric Specialist)

    Ø      Nutrition Guides for child with Down syndrome

There will be a Question and Answer portion after each talk for you to have your queries addressed. Due to our speakers’ tight schedule, the seminar will start at 9.00am sharp. We appreciate if all participants come punctually.

This seminar is open to all DSA members for free.  A minimal registration fee of $5.00 shall be collected for Non-DSA members.
