DSA–ACS Charity Bowl 2008 (9:00AM - 12:00PM)

Charity Bowl is back again this year for the third year running in collaboration with Airline Club Singapore and its objective is to produce a platform in the inclusion of our members with Down syndrome in sports such as bowling and to showcase their abilities. Charity Bowl also serves to create public awareness of Down syndrome and to raise funds for the operation of programmes and services provided by Down Syndrome Association (Singapore). Charity Bowl is open to all persons with Down syndrome 7 years old and above.

EAS Schools Cluster Retreat To Singapore Zoological Gardens (8:00AM - 1:00PM)

EAS would like to take the opportunity to invite our members from DSA for a half morning outing to the Singapore Zoological Gardens. The half day morning programme is aimed at incalculating a sense of care, compassion and concern for persons with special needs. This particular outing, comprising of 13 other schools will provide a platform aimed at raising an awareness, appreciation and social integration of our members with Down syndrome and their peers from the various schools. Details are as follows:

Age Group: 15 years and above
 
Participation for this event is only limited to persons with Down syndrome. There will be accompanying DSA staff during this trip.  

Lantern Making (10:00AM - 12:30PM)

Esplanade will be celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with a 12-day Moonfest celebrations from 3-14 Sept. As part of the pre-festival activities, they would like to invite DSA members to take part in our lantern and mask making workshops as follows:

Time: 10am to 12.30pm
Venue: DSA Bishan Junction 8 Office Tower Level 6
Age Group: 7 years and above

Participants will learn how to create a lantern from corrugate plastic boards and  rice paper.
