Reading and Spelling for Children with Special Needs
Synopsis of Talk: The talk covers five essential components required for successful reading, as well as an effective intervention technique (Visualizing and Verbalising by Nancibell) to develop reading comprehension skills. In addition, the basis of spelling and tips for spelling success will be provided. This talk involves active group sharing so do come prepared to participate!
Speakers' Profiles:
Lisa Lim graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology in 2006. She worked in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and is presently in private practice. Lisa currently sees a wide variety of children’s speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders. Lisa is TalkToolsŪ trained for level 1 & 2 and has a keen interest in working with children with Down syndrome.
